Room 217
If you can dream it, you can do it.
In Room 217 we expect to act Respectfully, Responsibly and Independently.
We must be our own monitors. A good yardstick against which to measure our behaviour is this: Would we be proud to admit how we acted later or do we hope that no one finds out?
If we live up to these ideals, nothing can stop us.
Here is a link to some comic books based upon classic stories, in the same way that our classic comprehension stories are based on classic stories. Enjoy.
This website has lots of great games, including multi-player games that the kids can play with their friends. I recommend that parents only let the children play these games with their friends.

The students should be reading from this website regularly. Every night would be appropriate for some, a few times a week for others. Listen to your child read and decide what would best help him or her.
A good explanation of adding prefixes and suffixes, complete with games.
Check in on some of the group work that we are doing. Please do not add any messages to the board.
Things To Share Bulletin Board
This bulletin board will be used to share things with the class. The teacher must approve the posts before it appears for the class to read. We will use this first to sign up for a rock or mineral for our first project.
We are lucky to have access to a whole range of electronic books through this website. The students wrote down the username and password that they would need into their paper agenda on Friday, September 9.
This is the comic strip site that the kids have used in class.
This is a good site to print off practice pages for proper printing and handwriting. These are the types of activities that are a great way to improve when no homework has been assigned.
A fun typing tutorial. You can start at the beginning and learn to touch type. We will be using this at school and I strongly recommend the students use it at home as well.
Spider Typer, a fun way to practice typing. Remember to practice doing it without looking at the keyboard, as much as possible.
This is a very useful website that I recommend students and parents use regularly. It contains additional activities related to the units that we are studying for valuable practice.
